Mānuka honey in animal wound care
Mānuka Vet® wound care products for animals use only 100% pure, high-grade genuine Mānuka honey from New Zealand.
At Mānuka Vet® all the honey we use has been independently tested for three markers present in genuine Mānuka honey - leptosperin, DHA and MG. For maximum therapeutic benefits, the honey needs to be at least MG 260+ – but because we really want to make sure your animal gets the best benefits only Mānuka can provide, we use a minimum of MG 350+ or higher in all our products.
Mānuka Vet® Skin & Wound Crème 100g (3.5 oz.)
Certified MG 350+
Mānuka Vet® Skin & Wound Crème contains 80% New Zealand Mānuka honey, 18% New Zealand lanolin and 2% plant oils (citronella and rosemary). The lanolin increases the temperature stability, making it more pliable when cold and more viscous when warm, reducing run-off. In addition to this, the lanolin makes the crème water repellent. The plant oils have natural insect repellent properties, impeding both flies and ants from making contact with the wound.
This sterile and filtered 100% New Zealand product has been independently certified as containing >350mg/kg of methylglyoxal, ensuring that the crème has all of the beneficial attributes that comes naturally with high quality New Zealand Mānuka honey.
The Crème is designed to be used on wounds that no longer need bandaging, those that don’t need to be bandaged (such as minor abrasions, partial thickness burns and ‘mud-fever’) and those that can’t be bandaged (such as wounds of the upper limb and body).
